1U Networking Platform Supports Intel Core™2 Series Processors and Expands to 14 x RJ45 GbE LAN

NORTH ANDOVER, MA, June 8, 2010: WIN Enterprises, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of embedded controllers and platforms for OEMs, announces the PL-80230, a 1U rackmount platform designed to support network services with flexible processor choices. Built with Intel® Embedded IA components to enable OEM product longevity, the PL-80230 offers OEMs a choice of Intel® Core™2 Duo, Core™2 Quad or more economical Pentium and Celeron processors.

Two unbuffered and non-ECC DDR3 800/1066MHz DIMM sockets provide memory to 4GB. The unit features a 3.5" SATA HDD and CompactFlash™. In addition to PCI Express x8, the PL-80230 also supports one mini PCI socket and one PCI expansion slot.

The platform has 6 GbE LAN ports, which is expandable to a maximum of 14 GbE Ethernet ports all available on the front-panel. The device also features dual USB 2.0 ports, one RJ-45 console port, and LED indicators that monitor power and storage device activities. The PL-80230 is RoHS, FCC and CE compliant.

PL-80230 units are available now for evaluation and begin selling at $554 in OEM quantities. Linux (Fedora, MontaVista, SUSE), Microsoft® Windows™ Embedded, Microsoft Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 are supported.
